| I wanted to write a Christmas song
originally, but all of the ideas I had were a bit corny. I then hit on the
idea to write about the year, summing it up in a diary format. It was a
nice way to finish off the year. (Chorus) Thank you for a wonderful year One of the best I can ever remember All the way from January through to December You can take a perfect day and make it even better In March you put a spring in my step April showers fell but we never got wet The clouds disappeared as we danced into June And only mad dogs and us went out in the mid-day sun (Chorus) You made July seem like one long holiday You lit up August in your own special way I guess we thought the blue sky would never fade Loving each other's the best choice both of us ever made (Chorus) (M8) We talked all through autumn, the leaves began to fall Visited family and friends, made plans I recall The nights drew in, November brought storms And as winter came, we made love just to keep warm (Chorus) |
