| This is exactly how it happened. In the
centre of Manhattan, amidst all the wealth and power a family had taped
photocopied posters to lamp posts asking if anyone had seen a young man. I
took a photograph of the poster and when I got back wrote this song. What
happened to Peter is explained in the song 'All Dark Now'. I was walking down 5th Avenue on a snowy Sunday morn' I'd just been to the Guggenheim and was making my way home When I saw a hand drawn poster taped to a lamppost, wet and torn It was for a missing boy called Peter Caragiulo And Detective Diaz wanted to know Where he was now Last seen on Prospect and Greenwood Avenues 11th March 1998 at 1.30 am If you see him could you contact Detective Diaz 66th Precinct case number 1-9-8-7 Oh Peter Oh Peter Oh Peter Caragiulo Where did you go, where are you now? The photo that stares back at me is the spit of my nephew Marc And the melting snow forms tears under his eyes I notice there are more posters all over Central Park But no-one wants the reward, they're too busy with their own lives Oh Peter Oh Peter Oh Peter Caragiulo Where did you go and can you hear me now Can you hear me now Can you hear me now? |
