Two prized plectrums given to me by Michael Ward of the Wallflowers.

Gear

Acoustic guitars

Takamine Limited Edition 2000 electro-acoustic, great for recording and superb live too.

Electric guitars

Godin LXGT with a Roland GR33 guitar synthesizer to add extra texture and to give me a broader musical palette. The Godin also has LR Baggs piezo pickups in the bridge for electro-acoustic tones.
Westfield 12-string electric to give me that jingle jangle Byrds sound.

Guitar effects

Boss GT6 multi-effects unit. Simply the best! I put this straight into the PA.

Roland GR33 guitar synthesiser. This is great in the studio or live as it allows me to turn my Godin guitar into virtually any instrument!

Harmonicas

I have three 10 hole harmonicas. The 'C' harmonica is a Hohner Pioneer. The 'D' is a Lee Oskar Major Diatonic. The 'A' is an AXL folk/blues.

Sequencer

Yamaha RM1X sequence remixer which I use to generate backing tracks. Loads of modern dance sounds at your fingertips and fully programmable. Excellent functionality for the price.

Amplifiers

Marshall AVT275 2x12 combo which is affectionately known as 'The Beast'! This has 4 channels and a footswitch for moving between them when playing live.

Dean Markely DMC-40, 2 x10" speakers, 2 channel with reverb and chorus. I use this for practice, if I don't need the full rig!

With the Godin I run both the Marshall and the Dean together and can mix guitar and synth sounds; or I can play guitar or synth on their own.

Recording

Korg D1600 digital recorder with built-in CD burner. This is a very sophisticated 16 track yet is surprisingly easy to use. Also has built in guitar effects, reverb for the vocals and programmable drum patterns.

Yamaha MSP5 powered monitors - just right for the home studio.

Shure SM58 mic - I use this for recording vocals and for gigs.

PA Rig

Peavey XRD680 power mixer, with 8 XLR or jack inputs, built in digital effects, with 2 Peavey 15" Hisys speakers. I use this with my Godin to give me three voices: rock guitar via my Boss GT6, piezo acoustic straight from the Godin, and guitar synth. All three are volume controlled to mix the levels depending on the song. I also put vocals and acoustic guitar through the power mixer.
