This is probably going to sound like
one of those short paragraphs at the beginning of a novel that
gives away surprisingly little about the author. However, I'll
do my best to keep it real.
Well, I hail from the North East, South
Shields to be precise. I was good at English at school (which
is handy when you live in England!). I was on the school
football team for most of my teenage years (I was either
centre half or right back). However, I had to give up as the
matches were really early on a Saturday morning and I was
always a bit hung over because the big disco was at the YMCA
on a Friday night.
When I was fourteen I took up two things which I'm still doing
to this day. One was the guitar and one was tennis. My
mum got me a music teacher and over many years I learned how
to fingerpick Greensleeves. Around this time I started to go
to the Newcastle City Hall with my sister to see all sorts of
cool bands - Roxy Music, Elton John, Lou Reed etc.
I went to Salford University and studied Biochemistry (I've no
idea why!). |

After university I played in loads of bands and wrote loads of
songs. One of my favourite lyrics, 'Let me Fall', is from this
period but I couldn't resist reworking it recently for Cole.
Now, I still play lots of tennis and when I'm not doing that I'm
writing and playing guitar. I'm based in Lancashire, but work in
Yorkshire. I work in E-commerce and love the internet and all it the
good things it can do to help people communicate better and faster. |
